Toledo, simply beautiful.

Life is always a  bargain. We have to honor its arrangement and move away from such an old yet beautiful place to live-in, in exchange for a new life ahead. But that place will always remain to be the place where we have learned how to live life to the fullest.

"Jackie"- A writer, a performer and a learner. I was raised in Toledo City. The place that has stood through stormy weathers with a harmonic ambience which had lived despite all life's turmoils. I missed the scent of its provincial air that has brought peace in my mind as a child. Well, we all have to grow up and face city life hence, embrace its new lights and new glory. It's been 6 years since my last visit. And for career's sake, I did not get the chance to walk into its door again and stay safely locked in its peaceful haven for fear of losing my path to fulfill my dreams.

It is a good city to live in. The people are calm and they enjoy simplicity at its finest. You can check out the St. John of Sahagun, a beautiful church founded on 1863 that has been the house of worship for the Toledanos until now.

Right down the hill facing the church is our little park. I also remembered as a child our biking escapades around the city park and witnessing all those pretty lights at night time. And there's that nice, old fountain that dysfunctions every now and then maybe coz its too old to do its job. But we never complained, coz we loved it and it's priceless.

Every June 12 which is the feast day of Toledo City, we celebrate the Hinulawan festival which is similar to that of the Sinulog in Cebu City. People from different places would also want to go and visit every households' kitchens' to have a taste of good food especially that crispy lechon!

If you are into chill out beach resorts well, Toledo has the Hidden Valley Resort located in Lamac, Pinamungajan which is about 2 hours away from the city. But if adventure is what you really want, then time is never a problem. Right?

Another beach getaway completes your tour if you go to Spring Park Mountain Resort in Cantabaco, Lutopan which is 45 minutes away from Cebu City. The feeling of being on a mountain is such a breathtaking experience!

Oh well, that ends my place of origin. More stories to tell. And I am practicing " patience" every single day. The journey never ends and the dream never fades. It does not end here. It does not end here. :)
